Are you running your old Lionel and American Flyer trains during Christmas time?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
Yep!
I run them all year round. Old Marx too.
No. We have a 10th anniversary Polar Express and a new Lionel Christmas Express set under the Christmas tree. I did add a Dept 56 boxcar to the Christmas Express set to add a little green color. Does that qualify as "maybe?"
Considered setting up a loop of track in the dining room to run something old but didn't follow through.
Yes. My layout is winter year around Dept 56 buildings and all. Run post war and command both.
Yes we do!
Looking forward to this weekend!

Last year I ran my oldest Lionel and American Flyer (1917-1927). This year it will be Marx (mostly six inch) and U&R (1937-1952).
Absolutely! Lionel nos. 2065 with freight and 681 with passenger train around the upstairs tree and my Lionel 1615 with freight around the downstairs tree.

Run mine all year from the early 1920s electrics to modern mth trains .
This years under tree layout is post war. Last year, it was Standard Gauge.
My Lionels only come out at Christmas time, my little train room is a HO scale layout and the G scale garden railway is put to bed for the winter. In the past they did stay up year round. Mike the Aspie

Yes, I do. My 1951 Lionel 2026 (and its three silver 027 passenger cars) normally lives in honored retirement on our coffee table. But at Christmas, I bring it downstairs to the layout for some workout time.
Nothing like the haunting sound of that old whistle to make me think of Christmases gone by.
