I recently purchased 20-64038 Santa Fe 4-Car 70' Streamlined Passenger Set (Ribbed-Sided) from the 2019 volume 1 catalog to use with an ordered 30-1793-1 Santa Fe 4-8-4 Imperial Northern Steam Engine.  I am not sure if these would match up in real life but I believe the build years are close enough that it could happen.  Any thoughts on this?

Also I am looking a the 20-21240-1 Santa Fe F7 Diesel A-Unit and B-Unit (20-21240-3) in the 2019 volume 2 catalog.  Both the Streamlined Passenger Set and these engines are labeled as "Stainless plated" finishes (in catalogs only and not on MTH's website).  It's difficult to tell from the catalog images whether or not the finishes appear the same and or if they will look like or be a matched set.  Anybody have any information on this or can direct me in the right direction.  I have a question out to MTH but do not have a response yet.

I'm not a train historian, but the good thing about Santa Fe passenger cars is the silver goes with a lot of engines steam and diesel.

All of the new MTH stainless plated will match up. I have the 4 car set from the Santa Fe E8 Super Chief set from a few years ago and I just added the recent diner / sleeper combo. On top of that I have the recent Stainless Alco PAs and the Stainless F3's from last year. I run my SF passenger cars behind all 3 engines types.

I have a video of the Alco PA and SF Cars on my YouTube channel below if you want to take a closer look.
