Got 6 new Plasticville buildings, 3 in O/S, 2 in HO, and 1 in N... the last three for forced perspective. (I hope it works.)

The quality of the new Plasticville isn't up to the original stuff, but I can make it work.

I'm building a toy train layout, NOT a model railroad, and Plasticville is some good stuff for that purpose.

Sounds good! What kits did you get? Are you a member of the Plasticville Collectors Association? Their newsletter typically has an article or two about detailing and kitbashing     buildings.

I agree about the new (chinese made) kits not being up to par with the older kits. I have also found that the pieces need to be washed before they are painted or glued as they sometimes still have an oily film (releasing agent?) on them.

Enjoy your presents. I hope you will post a few pictures as you go,
