My Sante Fe Hudson 4-6-4 3450 with PS2 will not respond. More accurately, the DCS will not recognize the engine. I hear it "click" when the power is turned on to the track, when we press "read" we get the "no dcs engines found." Every once in a while the remote will find something but doesn't name it (NS sd9, or Rudolph etc.) It places it in engine #98 position nameless. When you go to the advanced setting looking for info on engine #98 it will call it my "NS-SD9" which already occupies another engine position. When placed on a conventional track the engine will turn on (click) but will only move after I hold the whistle/bell buttons on a Lionel 80w transformer. Train moves and runs on that track but acts a little odd with some sounds that will come in an out. The whistle will only blow if I hold whistle and bell down at the same time. No directional change happens when direction is pressed or if throttle handle is moved totally off and back on again. The battery seems to be fine, I say that because it seems to linger like it should before it totally shuts down while on the conventional track. Nothing happens on the DCS track. I am currently running 3 other engines NS-sd9, GE 2010 Evolution, and a Rudolph red-nosed reindeer engine with no problems. I did have an issue when we first set everything up this year for Christmas. My TIU was not working properly. The 3 engines that work now would not respond to it. The Sante FE did at first, it was the only engine working correctly. I borrowed my brothers TIU and it controlled everything fine...but the Sante FE. I purchased a new TIU, it controls everything fine but not the Sante FE. Sorry for the long rambling post, just trying to give as much information as I can to aid in the solution PS: I did check the fuses in the old TIU the they were fine.
I don't have a lot of experience and probably know enough to be dangerous!
Thanks in advance for you help.
