I am starting this thread to show the differences between the Two Series-from Paint to subtle details.
First up is the scale 8000 Gal. Tank cars. This is the first Scale car that was done between the two Series:
The packaging is different- Polar RR in Standard Lionel Orange and Cream while Polar Railroad in Blue and Gold
Note : The Polar RR Foam shell is only one way in due to the Brake Wheel stand. The Polar Express corrected this minor issue with the "clamshell packaging"
Same car- Different Paint schemes.
The Polar express tank car ends are painted black- probably to "tie into the Gla Hopper and upcoming Ps5 Gondola.
The Polar Express Tank car has the "Back to the Future" Plunger uncoupler while
Polar Railroad had the hidden uncoupling tab
Notice the Snowflake detail on the Placard.
