I think this was successful. Now for the other section behind the first. Thanks for all the tips.

Good work Ron. Looking forward to some more photos when the adrenaline begins to ebb...
Excellent work. Have you tackled turnouts yet?
Excellent!
I'd be interested if you come up with another switch solution. It would allow for the use of turnouts other than the Code 148 #5's and #7.5's I'm using. That would be helpful for those working in a tighter space.
Good luck.
C.Sam I put a couple of extra photos in from high angle as you requested. I did additional weathering of track to bring out the wood grain and vary the colors. Marker I have found I have to change the wheels on the trailing trucks on a couple of my locos to keep from topping the Atlas spikes. Had planned on going to scale wheels anyway.
As far as switches go. I'm going to give one a try soon. After doing the second straight section, my next project is to add interiors and battery lights and scale under carriage detail to all my Lionel and K Line heavyweights.

That is nicely done, and looks good. Nice job.
Thanks, Chris. I'm not so blown away with it that I'm going to change my yard. Instead, since it is all cinders, I'm just going to take the earth and cinders over the ties and half way up the rails. Should look great.

I would agree. I like that look for yards and industry leads...the stuff just collects there.
