My ZW AMP/VOLT METER (6-14077) has stopped working after 13 years (no display). Does anyone have or know of a schematic for this unit? It worked intermittenly for a while and then quit alltogether. These units are scarce and I would like to get it going again if possible. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

This is what it looks like.

Hopefully someone will come up with something, but if not I don't think it would be hard to do some DIY troubleshooting.  Given its age and size, the components ought to be accessible and you should be able to read the part numbers.  Then given its simple functionality, you could infer what signals or lack thereof would cause the entire display to fail.  Can you post photos of the guts of the board with enough resolution to show part numbers?

Yes, all of the displays which require DC voltage to function. The circuit board appears to be well made and fairly rugged. I suspect a DC power supply component has failed, but which one and where is it on the board? I do not see any test points or voltages. I can try taking a photo of the board if it will help. Thank you both for responding.

I use to repair antique radios as a hobby, so I have some knowledge of electronics. At least I was able to obtain schematics for those old radios from the public library.

Yes there is, an 8.4 volt rechargeable NiCad. It checks out OK. According to the user maual, its function is to keep the display working during the shut down process during which the display reads "OFF" for approximately 20 seconds.

I am working on the CB photo. I have been busy with higher priorities. Hope to get to it this week end.

Thanks to all for your help.
