I wish Lionel or MTH would offer some U's, GPs, or SDs, of the aforementioned road names. A very colorful and important part of US rail history.

I agree. Have mentioned this a few times to MTH at York Show but it seems to do no good.
And don't forget the L&N.
Yes, L&N.
L&N E-6 in gray and yellow would open my checkbook. And the ACL (later SCL) E-6 in
black with the yellow horizontal stripes (MTH has these in the latest catalogue; I would
rather have Lionel command, but I'm tempted).
Also, I wish more cab diesels like the E-6 were sold in separate A-units. I know, profit margin and all that, but I skip A-B-A or even A-A sets altogether when all I want is one. So, no sale of any kind.
I seem to recall MTH selling the DL-109 in single units.
I would like to see SCL GP16's from MTH.
All would make great looking O locomotives, but I want the real thing, not some fantasy-heritage paint scheme (although Scott's loco does look nice).
I custom painted many a HO loco in those southern region RR colors. I want to do a few in O too.
Yeah I added the L&N, oversight. All these roads remained profitable even during the worst of times.
What is the stock # of the Lionel Family Lines unit?
Atlas O did the SD35 Family Lines in 2007 but I missed it.
I have some custom ones I made as well.
In the picture below; Clinchfield Challenger, Clinchfield Pacific, Clinchfield Mogul, Clinchfield 4-4-0, Clinchfield 4-6-0 and a Clinchfield Shay. Only the Challenger is as done by the manufacturer.
You have to check the Product Locator at Lionel's website or Product Search on the MTH website for those railroads.
Andrew
Lionel in the last few years has done the an F-7ABBA in L&N blue and cream and also a GP-9 and GP-35 in gray and yellow. Williams did an E-7 in L&N blue and cream.

That is some NICE stuff!
Erwin wants to get old #1 back. I don't think they will ever be able to fund it. Wish they could.
Larry
Erwin, TN. Clinchfield Town.
I'm planning on getting 2 MTH Seaboard Coast Line SD45's when they're released.
I really like the SCL Black and yellow jacket paint scheme even if it was a carry over from the ACL day's. Wonder what it would take a get a BQ23-7 made for the Family Lines paint scheme.
Don't forget about this beauty from MTH

Nice Scott. Really like the One Spot you made. Actually saw the real one pass behind the place I was working in Kingsport Tenn., in 1971. I have a ABA set of baby F-3's a friend painted for me + a MTH Imperial Clinchfield Challenger. I like the RailKing line because they look better on my layout which is 9'x10' with 054" an 042" curves.
Now we are talking my railroads! I remember watching Seaboard System-CSX in NC through my high school and college years (mid 80s - early 90s). Attached are some images of the models listed below.
Lionel produced the Seaboard Coast Line GP30 in the split image scheme 6-28841
Lionel had cataloged a SCL U36B but it was cancelled. Would have been a good starting point for a U18B.
Atlas O has made the SD35 and SDP35 in SAL, SCL split image, L&N and CSX schemes
Atlas O has also made the SAL GP35 and SAL GP9
Weaver made a SCL C-628
Atlas O also made a Clinchfield SD40 years ago, and recently cancelled the gray and yellow GP9s from the latest order.
What I would like to see is a Seaboard System/Chessie SD50 produced.

Didn't Weaver Models come out with an Sd40-2 back in the 1990's?
I have a pair of Williams E7 L&N Cream and Navy, Atlas GP7 Cream and Navy, and just got a MTH "Big Emma" 2-8-4. Been looking for that one a long, time! I grew up in Louisville, Ky 40's/50's/60's, I saw about all types that they had. One old passenger engineer that traded with uncle at his neighborhood filling station, was senior engineer on their streamlined "Pacific". I would be in favor of more L&N myself...Brandy
Here are some more Atlas O images showing what has been produced for these railroads.
Unfortunately these may be hard to find today.

I do like seeing the old Southern Rail Roads talked about.
Two old (new) PS-1 sets I have never run. I bought them just because of the name.
The SCL 7070,7080,7090. and the L&N ABBA with 7 aluminum cars. Pretty to me.

One more reply - here is an excel spreadsheet list of the locomotives and rolling stock Atlas O has produced for ACL, SAL, SCL and other southeastern lines from their website. They have actually been good to the South for several years. Never mind the highlighted items - this is how i keep up with what i have in my collection.

Hey Dave love the work you did on your Dad SCL E unit.
I've got two of the L&N pieces by MTH, the first I bought as a tribute to my Granddad who was a conductor for them. The second I bought to suplement the roster.
I'm in for a Legacy L&N (I have a diesel) so now I want a legacy steam.
Brent
The diesel locos need something to pull that is appropriate.
What about the matching freight cars?
Seaboard Coast Line Pullman-Standard 4750 CU FT 3-bay covered hopper that can be made using an undecorated Atlas Train Man PS-4750 hopper or you can wait about 2 years for a production run.
I'm planning on getting 2 MTH Seaboard Coast Line SD45's when they're released.

The SD45 is a wonderful locomotive in any paint scheme and she looks good when lashed up with multiple locomotives. I too would like to see some more from MTH or Lionel as far as those railroad names are concerned.
I imagine they will, when they see enough of us, want those particular products. I will not pretend to get into the corporate heads of those two companies, but from time to time they do listen and they do put out some rather incredible products.

Mike W, MTH also came out with a powered (20-2708-1) and non powered (20-2708-3) premier SD-50 in Seaboard Systems. 3 SD-50's replaced 4 SD-40-2/C30-7's on the 90 car OUCX coal trains going to the power plant here in central Florida in the late 80's
Hey Scott Smith, I love your custom engines! Tell me how you dropped the headlight down on the pilot of the engine in the bottom picture? Is it a Pacific or Mikado, as I can't enlarge it, and eyes just can't see that good anymore. They are extremely good models, and thanks for sharing.
I have that Atlas Gp9 I guess it is (cream-n-Blue) above, and it's as good an engine as I have hide from my wife in my basement! Wonderful runner.........Brandy

That is a K-Line Pacific (undecorated version) The headlight was screwed in so I unscrewed it and routed the wires to the pilot just like the prototype. I patched the screw holes and repainted the front.

This L&N scheme has always appealed to me since seeing the Tennessee Valley Historical Society prototype sitting at the Chattanooga Choo Choo many years ago while we were on vacation. Picked up the Williams model when I came across one several years ago..

c.sam, do you know what the L&N Williams E7's are going for now? I got mine 3years ago from Trainz auction (New never opened) for $175.00. There was a pair that went off on ebay, a few weeks ago, near $500.00. Don't know what their shape was in, but WBB might ought to take a show of hands and if enough interest, rerun them with different engine numbers. Jerry Williams also offered the E7B units back in the day, and I wished that I had gotten a couple, even though L&N never had any on their roster, still would look impressive, ABA, or ABBA nearing 7' long.
I do remember seeing Atlantic Coast Line E7AB's @ Louisville Union Station in the early 50's pulling the Pennsylvania "South Wind" into Louisville.
I also saw a AB Atlantic Coast Line E units, pulling the "South Wind" toward Indianapolis crossing the Main Street overpass, one evening returning home from delivering newspapers.
Scotty thanks for answering my post reply, and from what I could tell you did a fantastic job on the engine detailing. I remembered as a kid in Louisville seeing those Pacific's, Mikado's, and Kanawha's that C&O would pull their trains in/out of Louisville's Water Street Yard. I thought even as a kid, that it ought to be a federal law, that all big steam locomotives have their air pumps mounted on the smoke box face, and the headlight just above the front pilot. I thought engines of comparable size sitting side by side, the a fore mentioned, looked much more powerful and demanding of attention than the others. Just memories of another old man as a kid! Thanks again Scott
In regards to Seaboard Coast Line in O scale, did Microscale or Champ ever make the Split Image scheme for SAL units? I know Microscale still sells the HO version, but cannot find in O scale.
Has anyone ever made these for themselves? Need a set or two for possible re lettering project.
Thanks,
