MILW box - 1 upside-down door. I wouldn't correct it; conversation piece.
Nice.
Great purchase at a great price.
Very nice boxcars I love them!
Nice. I love the door. Like D500 said, leave it as is. Is the other side the same way or right side up?
Interesting...

Very nice additions to the fleet, Gary!!
I just ordered the PRR, SOU and WC versions a couple of days ago. Should arrive in sunny NYC around the middle of next week.
I noted with a bit of a smirk the Menards promotional emails (expected), despite my being waaaaay outside their corporate footprint.

Maybe it's supposed to be 7 3 5 instead of S E L?
Mine arrived about a day early. With all the bubble-wrap in the carton, it's a wonder there were boxcars in there
Owing to the unique packaging of the cars, I was thinking of making up an "unloading scene" with ramps and idler cars and such to pull the cars out after the top dome is removed. Maybe when I get around to making enough room to actually do such a thing
2024 edit: linking thru all my acquisition photos
(oops...found out 8/6/24 that's disallowed, so nav links redacted)

I also have the Milw Rd car. It's a good looking boxcar. I like your WC also.
the WC was based out of Fond du Lac, WI where I live.

Hello Paul
Thanks for sharing the information about the Wisconsin Central, in Fond du Lac, WI • Where you now hang your Railroad Hat.
Trainroomgary- Your welcome! I assume you know that CN bought the WC. We have a very large yard here in FDL that dates back to the steam days of the SOO. We have a SOO Pacific on display at one of the entrances to our lakeside park.
Very nice box cars good luck with them!
Good looking cars

I recieved my Milwaukee Road boxcar about a week or so ago (door right side up). I did notice that my car has a different road number (2418) than yours. Intereresting.

Don't they all have different road numbers? I thought they were advertised as all being unique.

No, those letters now approximate Chinese characters which translate "I'm going to put this on upside down but some American will think that's special."
The real question is,
Did you save big money?

If they were, I didn't notice it. Just a bonus for a nice inexpensive car.

FDL - "Bottom of the Lake" - nice area. Do any iceboating on Winnebago, Paul?
Very nice, I'm lucky if my O Gauge Magazine hasn't been already opened when I look in my mailbox.

The four-digit group appears to be the one that varies. You can't see it in the photos posted so far, but there is a glossy underlay surrounding the part of the road number that varies from piece to piece. Must have something to do with the method the builder uses to place a unique number on each car.
