Unfortunately, the automobile provided by MTH with my Mel's Drive-in accessory was lost. The car had a "slot receptacle" affixed to the underside of its chassis. That slot engaged the tab that moves the car along its path on this ultra-cool accessory.  Without a moving car, much of the fun of watching this accessory in action is lost.

So I'm seeking a replacement car with that slot receptacle attached - a 1950s model preferred.  If a car isn't available, I hope an OGR FORUM member could provide the vendor for the small plastic slot receptacle. That would be very helpful. I'd attach it to one of the 1:50 die-cast models in my collection and then place it at Mel's.

With thanks in advance,

Thanks to all who contributed ideas to my initial inquiry. The "blue popsicle lid" suggestion is a winner!  I ordered it from Target online, and I'll soon have six "slot receptacles" to apply to selected 1:50 scale cars from my collection for use at Mel's Drive-in. I intend to apply the slots to:  1948 Tucker, 1956 Edsel,  1953 Mercury, 1959 Ford Retractable Hardtop, 1957 Olds convertible, and a 1956 Continental Mk II - which is a model of the real classic car I own. Is this a fun hobby, or what?

With appreciation,

Mike
