Hi,

I've recently purchased Lionel Legacy and I'm still trying to become familiar with most of the basic functions, especially setting up the locomotives. At the moment, the only Lionel locomotives I own are TMCC. I normally like to run my locomotives relatively slow with high momentum. Before Legacy, I set my engines stall, momentum and maximum speed with the Cab 1. Does anyone know the procedure for setting the maximum speed for a TMCC locomotive using a Cab 2? I've been able to set the Stall and Momentum but I'm unable to get the locomotive to go beyond a certain speed.

Thanks,

Joe

Setting the speed limit, is the same for TMCC and legacy.

Check to see that the Train Brake Slider is not below half way, this will limit the top speed. The further down this is, the slower the top speed of the loco will be.

The "train brake slider", is actually a "train loader" so-to-speak. It creates the illusion of a load for legacy locomotives slowing them down and making them sound like they are working harder. Turning the throttle higher against the load indicated on the screen will also increase the laboring sounds, and make it harder to gain speed. Lighter drift sounds will occur when the train brake is lessened. Its a neat effect that simulates realistic train situations.

The "train brake slider" will not effect the load and drift sounds on a TMCC loco but it will slow it down when the load is increased.

** Be sure your TMCC loco is setup under TMCC Mode on the cab 2. TMCC Mode operates TMCC locos much smoother than the default, CAB1 Mode.
