At York, I bought some metal shelving with the grooves for train wheels.  My intention is to start with a shelf of standard gauge and then add O Gauge shelves above that.  What clearance do I need for the standard gauge?  My standard gauge is packed away now and I'd rather not dig it out to measure it.

I'm a newbie but I can offer this.  Below is a photo of my shelving (GSDS).  There are several shelves with O Gauge, spaced 6".  The single G-gauge shelf (the shelf with the CPRR cattle car) has 8" spacing to the shelf above it.  I realize these cars aren't Standard gauge but they might provide some ideas.
