Should I leave Engine ID #1 or any other IDs not assigned on Cab-2

99 at least for most Legacy engines is an "ALL" address hard coded.  So it would be wise to avoid it as well.

1 is the default address for TMCC and Legacy engines from the factory.  It's a good idea to not use it as a regular ID.

I typically use ID #1 for testing when I'm doing repairs or upgrades.  If you have something from me after a repair or upgrade, it'll likely come set to ID #1.  As Marty says, avoid #99, or you'll have pandemonium when you start things up!

I've been told to avoid ID #0, but I have my Legacy Genset using it, and I haven't observed any issues.

Marty's right! Never want to have more than 1 engine start up and move, the resulting crash or floor fall may be severe!

That's it.  I will leave #1 & #99 alone.

John mentioned using Engine ID#0.  I also used it for an Acela (don't even think about laughing).  I sold that one after I did a major make better than new job on all the motors and mechanisms

Thanks for your help guys.  Hope to see and meet you gentlemen at York.  Only bummer is no name tags.  I do go to "the breakfast" and have done the DCS meeting last year.

I forgot to mention, I have another Acela.  Actually with about 24 hours worth of work, they can be transformed into a very smooth operator...but this topic is about Engine ID.  I won't digress.  Thanks again, all,.  I look forward to making new friends in 2 months.

I always use the Last Two Digits of the Engine Number!  Makes it easy to remember!  In case of duplicate numbers, then I use the First Two Digits!!
