I just got back a couple hours ago from picking up my Lionel 265E from Henning's. It had been down there because two of the drive wheels were loose. I also knew that some of my repairs were not 100%, as this was one of the first engines that I worked on. It also was beaten by my relatives (my Grandpa got it new) and probably not repaired well then either. But, I was only got to have the wheels done because it ran well, with occasional repairs.

When I got the call with the price, it was about what I figured it would be (reasonable for the work that I thought had to be done). Well, I got down there today, picked it up and took it out to the car (probably should have looked at it in the store, but I trust them), and when I looked at the list of things done to it, I was shocked! Not only had they fixed the wheels, they also did some other maintenance things to make it more reliable for me! Thinking about it, I know that they had to take the motor apart for the repair I expected, but I'm impressed that they didn't just put together the old parts so it would run the way it did. It runs almost like a new engine!

I just want to take this opportunity to publicly thank Henning's Trains for going above and beyond on a piece of my family's history, and a very important engine to me. I will not hesitate to take any other trains that I cannot repair (I swear my skills have gotten better since working on this engine!) down to your shop, as well as place orders for new trains there.

You know I have heard nothing but good things about Henning's trains over the last few years.  I have purchased from them via the inter-net but have never visited their store.  I'm going to have to get up there and spend some money.  Its probably over an hour ride but it sounds like the trip is worth it.

It's over an hour drive for me, too. I think it's worth it.
