Does anyone know the difference between the expansion hub and light hub? Can you basically use the light hub as an expansion hub by taking the input power from an available port and using it to drive a second light hub and connect buildings to the extra light hub ports? Is there a limit to the number of expansion hubs or light hubs that can be driven off one supply?
Answers to these questions can mostly be found on the Woodland Scenics Just Plug Lighting System website.
The Expansion Hub doesn't have brightness adjustments like the Light Hub has. It's directions say: "Do NOT plug LED lights into Expansion Hub". It's outputs are not current limited for individual LED connections and would likely damage directly connected LEDs.
The Light Hub's Output Ports are current limited. Daisy chaining (wiring in series) Light Hubs would likely give unsatisfactory results. This is not recommended by WS.
The stated limit of the JP5770 Power supply is 50 Light Hub Ports.
