I think I did pretty well last month picking up the JLC Challenger 3985 for $750 on eBay. That's 5.31. I'm sure I have diesels that would top that mark.

By far my largest expenditures have been on PRR stuff.

I bought a postwar 2034 steamer for about $35 shipped. That comes out to around 58 per dollar.

As a group, MPC diesels probably offer the most number per buck. I would guess that most of the geeps or uboats would be 75 to 100 per buck.

Let's see if this works. Three (3) Scale-wheeled GP38-s's: 4602+4604+4607=13813. $1250 purchase price gives you 11 numbers per dollar. What a bargain!
