I purchased a the locomotive and on the second lap around the layout it derailed. After looking it over it is missing a small plastic piece that holds the front wheels into the truck. This is a two wheel truck, single axle. I looked up the model number on the MTH site and for mechanical parts it says coming soon. Anybody know where I might find this piece, or any body have one available?

It looks like they use that piece in the rear truck also so it might be pretty common among alot of their steamers?
Most likely the best place would be the New MTH parts web site. I wish I could help you with a part number.
They don’t have a list of mechanical parts for this loco, only electrical. I will try looking for some other steamer and see if I can find it.
That looks like something you can fabricate. Maybe from brass sheet.

At the present, I do not believe we have the actual individual pilot truck components available for the Railking Berkshires, …….we haven’t gotten to all the Railking Berks yet, ….however, the whole pilot truck is available, there are two listed for Railking Berks, look closely at the pics, and pick the one that best matches your application. I see a difference in the mounting hole ( not the pivot arm ) between the two. One truck has a defined round hole, where the other has a “slot” …here’s the pics with the part numbers, both are readily available at mthpartsandsales.com

Thank you Pat, it is definitely the top one so I will get it ordered. The part number was very helpful, that is why this forum is so great!
When you order and this is just speaking from recent experience. Maybe order a few more items to make the $10 shipping worth it. Just a thought.
It doesn’t look broken. Just reinsert it into the truck. If loose, a dab of Walthers Goo or equivalent will hold it in place.
Thanks guys I ordered a front truck. Joh G it is not broken the other side is missing. And yes Chefmark I ordered some wicks just to make shipping less painful. Thanks again for the replies.
Did you look at DC0000004?

My pleasure,
last week I spend $40 just on shipping because I did not order all that I needed. But I did have all the information and my lack of patience got in the way. But lesson learned!!

That part number is for a trailing truck. These plastic bearings are of varying length. They are NOT one size fits all. If a plastic bearing is available, it will be called out for its precise fitment, as the case of DC0000004, which specifically calls it out as a trailing truck bearing,……
