I am very new to this hobby. Have die cast version Legacy BNSF ES44AC. Can you turn it upside down after you have put smoke fluid in it. It was never run before I got it. I have run it about an hour and was going to put oil on running gear but am afraid if I turn it over smoke fluid will run out. Is this a concern. See nothing in owner's manual about this.
Also I am concerned about putting too much smoke fluid in. Manual says 15 drops. Also says not to run without smoke fluid with smoke switch in on position. So how do you know when to add more fluid? Do you wait until it completely stops smoking before adding more fluid. Locomotive seems to smoke best right after adding fluid but tapers off smoke output pretty quickly. Is this normal?
