So it's winter.   Up north here we need supplemental humidification when the heating season is upon us.  Wife's been having dry-eye issues.  Opthamologist says she needs more humidity...especially at night in the bedroom.

So, today we bought a room humidifier at Menards (11% days this week!) to supplement the other humidifying devices in the home.  And, lo and behold, many of the models...including the one we bought...has a little tray where you add a few drops of "Essential Oils" to do everything from reducing stress to "lighten the spirit" ().  The process stated is merely passive evaporation into the mist....no heating elements.

Essential oils?.....Holy Moly, I call that smoke fluid!!

Then it hit me!

Why not put my JT MegaSteam 'oils' to double duty???  Forget the "visions of sugar plums dancing in their heads" while sleeping at this time of the year.  How about "Smoke Pellet"?  Or "Original Cedar"?  Or....."Beer"!?  Now THAT's what I call a good night's sleep ambiance!!!

OTOH.....I may find myself sleeping in a different room from the spouse?

Hmmmmmm........What do think?

What timing! Today I bought a dehumidifier.

I agree that the air is dry at this time of the year where I live in NY, but my basement, where the trains are, gets damp when it rains hard. That dampness is not good for the trains.

Cedar would be my number 1 choice of scents. My father often smelled of cedar. He kept some of his clothes in a cedar chest.

Yeah, two different animals. As Jim said above, essential oils will mix with water and are dispersed in a water vapor. Smoke fluid needs to be heated in order to vaporize. Smoke fluid does have a scent without being heater, however you don't want to put a petroleum based product in your humidifier.
