Smoke fluid residue

My question this evening is for the folks that have been running trains in smaller rooms for a number of years. Ok, so we all know pretty much what smoke fluid is made of regardless of brand. Has anyone noticed a very light oily feel to the items in the room? Ever taken a photo off the wall and noticed an outline of the frame? I ask because I was visiting a Friend and he noticed this in his train room. He doesn't smoke cigars or cigarettes either. Since I don't have a layout I couldn't answer his question. The only thing we could conclude is that he runs his trains with smoke on and always at full strength. Could it be smoke fluid residue?

Quick edit- the room in which the trains are is about 10'x12' with 8' ceiling.

Could be, I think he should run a fan out of the room or figure out a way to put an exhaust fan in.

The smoke fluid vapors have to go somewhere.

I operate my trains in a small loft - never noticed anything like that in 5 years and I have max smoke all the time.

Did your friend's room have little or no ventilation I wonder?

That "oily" film on things as you described sounds like the situation I have. I don't mind it on some things, but like to keep my tracks spotless and this negates that. Soooo, I only run the trains with smoke on for visitors and that is about it...unfortunately. Ammonia on a cloth does an excellent job of removing it though from the tracks.

BEST I CAN DESCRIBE IS THAT IT LOOKS AND FEELS LIKE "ARMOR ALL" WHEN WIPED ON A DASHBOARD OF YOUR CAR. IS VERY LIGHT
