What do community members think of various different approaches to the control of fan-operated smoke units? I have one locomotive (MTH smoke unit) driven by GRJ's Super Chuffer, several (Lionel smoke units) with the TAS Puff-N-Chuff, and one with the 3rd Rail smoke unit. Plus Lionel engines of various vintages with original factory smoke control. To my eye, the Super Chuffer gives the most realistic puffs (plus other benefits), but at a price.
