The fan in one of my RK imperial Mohawks has ceased to spin. All connections are solid. A 9V battery touched to its contacts activates the fan motor. I did a feature reset but to no avail. Does any one have any thoughts. Thanks.

Well, try again for a lower voltage on the smoke motor. Make SURE you unplug it from the electronics before applying voltage direct to the smoke motor. The motor could run but draw excessive current, or it might not run on 5 volts. Of course, you could have a tether issue, and it could also be the board.
My benchmark is the motor runs on 2 volts DC, and on 5 volts DC it doesn't draw more than 50ma. If it doesn't pass those two tests, it's a bad motor.
You can also try a drop of light oil on the motor shaft bushing behind the impeller. Work it in spinning the impeller manually a few times. I've had success with this on a few fan motors.
Thanks for the input, men. I did check both ends of the tether and they were solid. So, back to the work bench.
Impeller loose. Or it is wire, or failure of smoke fan fet on PCB. G
