I finally watched it on Netflix. Very dark, portrayed the weak and sick side of humanity that can come out when stressed.

I liked the train inventor's concept of a perpetual train running around the world. What a surprise when it became a survival vehicle.

The end was creepy.

I think in the run of indy movies, it will season like somes of Vin Diesel's films, The Chronicles of Riddick with the Necromancers.

it's rare when i cannot predict the outcome of a movie shortly after it starts, so the originality of Snowpiercer, especially as it tends to ignore aspects (like gravity) of the physical world, puts it in the epic class IMO, though i can possibly see how those who expected this film to be about trains may have been disappointed.

Best judge for yourself. It's an allegory on several levels, requiring some thought, and a bit haunting. It's probably not a movie for people just looking for some entertainment without involvement. It was well received by many critics and got overall positive reviews from viewers. I found it an interesting look into the nature of mankind, and what we do to ourselves, and how we interact with our fellow man. In the end, what lies ahead for us as we go through life, trying to get to the front of life's train? Who, or what, is in the front, and is it really controlling what's happening? The train is all the people in the back know, their reality. They begin the search for something more to their lives. Illusions, disillusions, misconceptions, victories and disappointments, and the nature of reality.

Lots going on.

Throughout, the thought of what we are doing to our environment, and what it will do to us, lurks in the background.
