I'm trying to get a precise measurement of the ACTUAL diameter of a 10' loop of USA Trains G track. Any reference point will do... center to center, outside rail to outside rail, etc.
I'm trying to build a support base for a loop of this track for an outdoor layout at our club, and it's going up on trestles, so it needs to be accurate. I plan to cut the base pieces to match the length and curve of the track using a cnc so I have to lay out a segment accurately.
Some measurements of a slightly off-round loop suggests to me that it's not really, actually 10' in diameter. Any help would be appreciated!
(In my mind, I've already run through all the "DUH" comments related to asking how big a 10' circle is, so please... a solid response would be appreciated!)
At our club, we have a bunch of HO, N, S, and O gauge guys building a G gauge layout...so it's like starting all over again learning about the intricacies of G gauge.
Thanks!
