Two questions, really..

First of all, I plan to run the trolleys on the C&C using DCC. Has anyone else tried this? If so, does anyone make a sound decoder for traction equipment?

Secondly; is it possible to use the Z-Stuff sound and announcement device with DC trolleys running off overhead?

I downloaded a trolley air compressor sound from the internet, transferred to a sound chip, and connected that to a 555 chip timer (set for ten seconds) , activated by a magnetic reed switch at the station. Switch on the car. Reed switch on the Industrial rail trolley. I got the sound chip from a greeting card with a "record your message" feature. Total cost about $12.00. Turns on every time the trolley passes the magnet.

I may just start with DCC control and then add the sound card later after I am a bit more familiar with DCC in general. Using overhead wire pick-up is certainly making tracklaying easier, don't have to worry about switch points shorting the car.

I am using an NCE D408SR decoder, so I ought not have any worry about stalling burnout. Lighting will be all by LED's. Trucks are from Q-car, one powered, one dummy. The power truck has a Sagami motor. Poles will be Precision Scale with slider/shoes.

Line Poles are by Jason's .

The car itself is a resin freight motor shell from Conrad Baut; it is being done up as a Buffalo & Lake Erie Traction freight motor with a fictitious number as I am incorporating features from various B&LET motors in it.

Detail parts from Wiseman and Q-Car. Track is Micro Engineering Code 148; switches are old Atlas switches, manual, with NJI hi-Ramapo lighted and working switch stands.

Signalling is by cheap made in China led signals tarted up a bit and painted for a more appropriate appearance. Signal system is Logic Rail block animator units with infra-red detection. Grade crossing signals are also operated by Logic Rail and are from NJI

Lettering is from Micro-Scale alphabet sheets.....
