Hello, I'm working on a 2-8-0 Rail king with a ps2 3 volt system. I changed the speaker in it with another 4ohm speaker put the engine on the track heard start up sound for 1 second then silent. I shut off the power heard shut down sounds but they were cutting in and out. Tried it again same thing happened. Put the old speaker in, same issue. The engine does operate forward, reverse and lights work but no sounds during running. Not sure if the cruise or the smoke is working at this point. I separated the boards, I don't see any damage or smell anything brunt. I can not do a factory reset, do not own a DCS system. Anyone got any ideas how to troubleshoot this issue?

Send the boards to a tech that know how to determine faults and has test set. Could be erratic audio amp. Could be fault wires/connections. G

Just to close the loop, it was the audio amplifier.
