I would like to re-letter one of my new locomotives for my own railroad name.  In the past I have used dry transfers, but only put the initials of my railroad, "M&GL", but since this will be my main passenger locomotive I want to spell out the whole name, "Michigan & Great Lakes RR".  Does anyone sell waterslides of just letters?  I find them easier to work with, and can be repositioned as I put them onto the locomotive, were dry transfers are a one shot deal, and getting that many letters straight in one shot would be a pain in the butt!

Check the Scenery source list for decals - you could probably get a custom run of decals for just your road name printed up - might be a bit costly, but it certainly could be done.

As for dry transfers, you could probably also get a custom run done of your road name in that format as well so you would not have to worry about alignment issues using that medium.

+1. If you have custom decals made its would be most cost effective to fill a complete 8 1/2 x 11 sheet. They don't necessarily have to be the same decal. You could have some made for freight and passenger cars as well.

Applying single letters, one at a time, to the side of anything can make you pull your hair out.  I'd rather spend a few $$$ and send someone some artwork and get them to make them up.

They made the decals for my Seaboard Whalebelly Hopper.

Of course, you could also try to locate a couple of packs of decals that have those words in them, then cut out each word, way easier than single letters.
