Hi everyone,

I just powered up a new  MTH GS6 PS 3.0 (20-3756-1) and it seems to have a speed control problem.  Running in DCS 3rail mode. After starting it up and turning the speed dial to 2 MPH it starts to take off at high speed. When I hit DIR to reverse it, it stops suddenly. Then when I turn the speed up to 2 MPH it starts to take off at high speed in reverse.  Other functions on the engine seem to work fine.

I have checked the DCC/DCS switch, it was in DCS position but  I switched it back and forth a couple of times. 2/3 rail switch was in the 3 rail position but I switched in back and forth as well. No change in problem behavior. Since I have seen this behavior in other MTH engines when the engine/tender electrical connection was not tight (both wireless and cable type connections) I made extra sure the drawbar connectors were securely in, both on the tender end and the engine end of the drawbar.

I also did a feature and factory reset to no avail.

I did notice this drawbar is a  6 pin not the 8 pin I have seen in early drawbars. Also on the engine end, the connector on the cable from the engine interior to the drawbar connector does not seat with the same visual confirmation as the 8 pin. Note gap in slot in attached photo. But it is fully seated.

I purchased this from Sidetrack Hobbies new so it should be under warranty. But before I start that process, does anyone have any suggestions? I am always very appreciative of the help this forum provides!

Best regards,

Walter Bell
