Spence, hopefully someone will show you this thread and all the well wishes.

I know from your photos and videos, your tastes in trains are different from mine. But NOT ONCE have I ever read a condescending comment from you about the many other preferences of running or operating 3-rail trains. That to me speaks loudly of having a good (and healthy) attitude.

Even doctors say having a positive mental attitude is important to recovery and healing from any health problem. So I would say you are on the "right track" to being back on your feet again.

Spence,

As my own experience over  the years attests, this Forum is populated with really good people who genuinely care about about each other. Some of the dearest and closest friends I have on this planet I met here on the Forum. So please accept my sincere wishes for a speedy and comprehensive recovery from your current medical issues.  Our individual and collective prayers for your well being are manifest.

Sincerely,

Bear

Thanks so much for the update!  Having had my gallbladder out on an emergent basis I can attest to the fact it's no fun (and I didn't have to deal with the other complications Spence has had to).

One thing which I will always remember is on my first day of recovery on my walk around the ward I discovered a public computer for patients and was able to spend a short while reading this forum.   Within the hour I had Mike Taylor on the phone wishing me well.  It meant a lot the next day to also read all the kind posts from everyone.

Trust me--it definitely helps!
