Standard Ga. Track reviews?

The MTH Standard Gauge Realtrax is excellent stuff.  I use it in my annual Christmas tree layout on plush carpet and it stays together and it catches any oil or grease that may come off the locomotive.  I really like the looks of it too.  The light colored roadbed really looks good, especially when used with white snow ground cover!

BEST choices are older MTH or present USA track.

I built my layout with tubular track because I like the classic look, and it's easy to work with. The USA Track is the only current production tubular track worth spending money on - it is superior in every way to the Chinese stuff marketed by MTH/Lionel Corp tinplate. Secondhand US-made track marketed by MTH or others is OK too - just avoid the Chinese imports. I have no personal experience with the Realtrax.

And it's worth every penny. I had some of the MTH track (note I'm a huge MTH fan) and it was complete garbage. Shorted out all over the place, was a pain to put together and never sat flat on the table. The USA track is top notch, easy to assemble and never gave me any problems.
