Thanks for the responses. I have just set up  a standard gauge oval  inside my O Scale layout with very old track and tested it with an old Pride lines trolly and I basically have to run it full throttle to go around smooth. I have not had the time yet to try another engine.
The cord has bee replace with a newer on so its good.

To add the illusion of "depth" to your layout through the use of "forced perspective", set up your Standard Gauge oval on the outside with your O scale layout on the inside.  Try it.  I think you'll like it.

Thanks for the advice but it might be too late as my O gauge has the 072 radius and just fits the table  ;-o.
Poor planing on my part, but I did not know I was going to buy some standard gauge trains. None of the track is secure yet, but its getting big.
The standard gauge track is old and It may be 042 or something close.
