The manufacturer, among others, is Leviton. The bulb size is "miniature" The bulb type is "screw base." It is called a "keyless socket" which means it lacks a handle to turn on and off.  The Leviton stock number is 10020.  There are equivalent ones made by others. They are available on Ebay, at electrical suppliers, at hardware stores, and I believe a couple of toy train parts suppliers sell them.  Expect to pay anywhere from a dollar and up, each.  Originally, they were made of porcelain, but more recently, they are made from urea-formaldehyde.

Light in most building come from the ceiling.  Lights in the ceiling will not show the bright bulb through the windows.

I use Christmas mini lights in strings with pig tails and sockets.  You can get anyone but look for the 10 and 20 bulb strings or find old strings any size in the street trash or garage sales cheap. They come in stings of 10, 20, 50 and 100 hundred for a few dollars. the bulbs in 10 bulb light strings are 12v, and 20 are 7 volts which can be wired in series for 12 volt transformers.

Packs of 6 replacement can be found for 12v and 7 volt at dollar stores and Walmart at Christmas season.  The bulbs draw only 0.4 watt per bulb.

I mount them in pigtails with 6 to 12 inch wires with one bulb socket, light bulb holder to use the wires on the bulb into the socket.  The socket can be held to a wooden ceiling with a plastic push pin.  I glue small plastic loops to plastic ceiling or glue small wire loops to ceilings with E6000 glue.
