When I asked my daughter in law what I could get for my Granddaughter for Christmas. She said how about a wooden train set. So I got a Brio starter set; and then  two add ons for her birthday. For many reasons we just celebrated Christmas and her birthday this weekend.
My daughter in law sent this picture yesterday; which I converted to a video.

WTG Bob, cute granddaughter she'll take after her grandfather and make a great engineer.   God Speed

It looks like she is really enjoying it, Bob!

My wife bought several trains for small children several years ago, mostly from thrift stores, with the thought we would have them if and when we have grandchildren.  Some are wooden like Brio and some are battery powered.  I put them together at the time each was brought home, to see if there were parts missing, anything was broken, etc.  They have been stored in our attic for several years with no little tikes to play with them.

Maybe someday.
