Gentlemen: what type of material have you had success in working with, in duplicating cab curtains? What do you use for the cinching belts? How do you afix them to the cab back wall or what framing technique do you employ for "hanging" them?

Not sure if this would serve your needs, but when Atlas offered the 0-6-0 USRA switcher several years ago it came with a plastic cab curtain casting which had a reasonable appearance. They still offer it as a separate part, and I bought one to use on a steam project I have in progress, seems it will fit with some trimming. Just a suggestion.

Bob - where would a fellow get that part? Key put in brass castings on their DRGW L95 2-8-8-2, so there is precedent. Precision Scale used a fine, gray fabric material for curtains on a couple of models (N&W/DRGW 2-6-6-2; NP 2-8-8-4). Thank you for the suggestion.
Mark,
Here is a link to their website O parts and the specific cab curtain detail.

Not sure how their inventory is these days but worth a call.
