Good morning, STEAMday Sunday fans. This is the place to share your photos, videos and comments about all types of steam locomotives in your collection.

Just remember to post only those photos and videos you have taken, or those in which you have obtained the written permission of the owner to post. And, otherwise comply with the Forum Terms of Service.

I will start us off with the video below showing an MTH PS2 Railking Rugged Rails Southern steam locomotive 4-6-2, chugging along with lots of steam, hauling box cars and a Southern caboose through My Little Town:

Boston & Maine 617 is an MTH Railking model (30-1184-1) of a USRA 0-8-0 steam switcher delivered in 2001 with PS2 at MSRP $399.95. I hadn’t previously run this engine, so I first installed a BCR. The road number was changed to 617 by forum member Krieglok, who also painted and custom-lettered two boxcars for me. I highly recommend his work. The cars are New York, Trumbull & Boston Railroad 777 and Connecticut Railroad 06611.

Boston & Maine 617 was one of twenty-two Class H-2-a 0-8-0 switchers built for the B&M by Alco Schenectady in 1922. It was sold to the Maine Central Railroad in 1946.

Photos and videos show the engine and boxcars on my 12’-by-8’ layout. The original traction tires failed within a short while after I began running the engine, so two of my grandsons helped me install new ones.

Hello StDaySun fans!  We’re off to a slow start today, maybe some guys still haven’t  sipped that first cup of coffee.  Let’s hope we get up to track speed soon!

I decided to go to the archives today for one of my favorite (Does anyone else have trouble deciding which engine is the “favorite”?  I love the all!) steamers, MTH’s model of PRR’s H3 Consolidation.  There’s an example of this engine at the RR Museum of PA; it was a thrill to see it.  If you haven’t visited this museum, the Strasburg RR and the TCA museum in Strasburg, PA, you HAVE to go there!  It’s like “train heaven”!

John, nice looking engine. The wood and sheathed boxcars go well with it.

Good morning steam fans!  Just having my first cup of coffee which is catapulting me into consciuous! ... LOL!   Great pics and videos so far this morning!  Here are a couple a snapped after midnight this morning.

N&W Y6b has taken a siding.  This is a MTH RailKing that I bought used back around 2006/7.   It's a good runner and of course a good smoker too! IMG_3290

Here we are at Butler Junction where there's a lot of steam action.   A Lionel C&O 0-8-0 is pulling a string of cars on the near track as the Y6b is on the siding. On the far track a Pennsy A5 pushes a caboose.  IMG_3296
