OK, some of my steel mill buildings (3-D backdrops).  These buildings are used to hide a siding that passes from main layout tracks to the hidden storage area underneath the layout.

Both structures - the track leading to the under layout storage area is visible in this photo, but will be hidden by a highway overpass positioned between the two mills.

 

BLM 003W

 

Both structures are constructed using a wooden frame covered by foamcore.  The foamcore is in turn covered by Evergreen vertical siding and Plastruct corrugated roofing.  The smokestacks in the Open Hearth are Lionel Industrial stacks.
