I am nearing the final phase of the basic wiring for my layout. I have 7 Fastrack remote switches and have 2 ASC2's for them. In addition I have 10 Fastrack command switches. I plan to use the STM2 to update the LCS app with all switch changes. From the product description, it shows that the STM2 will handle 16 switches. With 17 switches, it looks like I will need 2 of them.

I am planning to set up space under the layout for mounting 2 STM2's and running the LCS cable to them.

Is there any update on when the STM2 will be released? The last I seem to recall was late 2015. It has never appeared on the Lionel shipping schedule so I am wondering if it will be released before the end of the year. Hopefully, there will be no changes in the design from what is currently posted on the LCS website...unless they can add support for a 17th switch.

Vince, if you have 2 switches set up as a crossover you can give them the same ID. Then you would only need one STM2.

The STM2 is in production, so this year is feasible for delivery.

That's a good point, Steve. I'll have to give some thought to doing that.
