Stumped - HELP PLEASE!

When you separated the inside and outside loops, did you cut the common outside rail connection between them?  In other words, was your inside loop providing the connection for the outer loop outside rails?

No, completely seperate.  Both were running fine.

All I did was cut the rails for the lift up section.

You have a short where you cut the lift-up or the associated wiring.

1. Besides the 2 Ross switches, what kind of track is on the Outside Loop and what size is the loop?
2. How many power drops (feeders) do you have wired to the outside loop?
3. Does each set of power drops include Hot to the center rail AND Common (ground) to the outer rails?
4. Do you have another way to check for power/voltage besides a locomotive (like a test meter, test light or lighted car)?
5. The more details you provide about your power connections, the better the troubleshooting advice we can offer.

Update - found it, a center rail insulator had moved near where I cut!

Glad you found it and reported back.  The best way to solve these problems is to be methodical.  What did I touch, what did I move, what was the original wiring etc.  Sometimes walking away for a bit let's you come back with fresh eyes.

In July this year, Menard's released limited numbers of O-72 switches in a test run.  They appear to be currently out of stock.
