Actually it’s not just shipping.  Someone has to read the order, retrieve the bulb, package the bulb,  print out the shipping label, apply the label and then move the package to the point of pick up. Then remember the cost of operations, rent, utilities insurance and so on.  I purchased a couple of bulbs this morning from Town and Country Hobby and paid ten dollars and change for shipping, however I am thrilled to have an establishment that carries a bazillion bulbs just waiting for my little order.
