Patrick,
Thanks for starting. The coke ovens are really cool. Happy Memorial Day. I have a couple of pictures of the train shed for POPSRR. I roughly put it together and you can see how large it is (seven feet). There is still another 32-inch long flat-roof section to go on the back end.
Since I ran out of material, I decided to start on an s-scale oil terminal. You can see the baseboard and dike wall that will surround four storage tanks.

Patrick - So I was at your place Thurs EVE and there was no sign of those Coke Ovens. We talked about them. They look Great.
Wish I could do that good of WORK.
Good Morning everyone! Hope you are having a great Memorial Day Weekend!
Patrick - Coke ovens look great
Alan- that engine shed is one heck of structure! nice work.
This past week I went ahead ditched the autorack unloading ramp I posted last weekend. I scratchbuilt this one instead. I also started making bottles for the filler in my brewery project. I couldn't justify purchasing bottles at $3.00 a piece since I need sixty of them. Here is my alternative.
I'm not sure my recent project rises to the level that warrants being showcased on this particular thread, but I am proud of the results I achieved in part due to some suggestions given to me by Steve P. (SIRT). It's an MTH Water Tower that I disassembled, painted, weathered and then put back together. It is now back in place on the Mid Atlantic Railway System. Thanks Steve! Bo
Patrick, those coke ovens are very cool, like the way you went about using the LEDS to create the fire effect inside the individual ovens!
GEF, like the new auto unloading ramp, very nice indeed! Out of curiosity, how did you go about creating those bottles? They look great by the way.
Alan, that is some structure, it's huge! Very nice work!
Bo

I got up Saturday morning and decided it was a good day to start them.Had to cut a big hole in the layout to make room for a track in front of the ovens. Wont be the last one . Thanks for the care package!

Water tower looks great Bo, the rocks behind it are equally impressive.
Jim/Patrick, thanks!
There is always so much great work presented on this thread each week. I marvel at the scratch builds and of course SIRT'S paint/weathering work. Bo

Alan thanks for posting these pictures of the ABBA SHOP. This shop will hold 8 sets of ABBA units on 6 tracks. (2)F-3's, (2)F-7's, (1)E-8's, (1)E-6's, (1)PA's, and a set of "DL's"
Railhead53- I made the bottles by using albuterol medicine bullets. If you know anyone with asthma they probably have some laying around. Just trim with a hobby knife and paint the inside with diluted oils. These were cut in half and measure 3/4" not scale but it looks right for what I am using it for.
I'm painting them with different levels of beer as the proceed and get filled going around the filler. The same goes for the labeling machine.
What you have explained there, GEF, is amazing creativity and resourcefulness. You must be one heckof an interesting guy to know in-person!

Great Job Everyone!!!!!
As you all have seen recently Alan G is building a very large ATSF ABBA SHOP for our layout. This structure is about 112" long with 6 tracks, and is planed to hold 8 sets of our ATSF ABBA units.
Most of the switching net work is inside the building but as we all know not all of the builsing track lemgth is usable due to the physical nature of the 6 track switch network and the transition track sections.
Below is posted a drawing of the ABBA SHOP in plan view and lightly shows the track and switch network inside the building.
Tracks #2 and #5 have 3 sections of train sheds plus the low section to store the ABBA UNITS.
Tracks #3 and #4 have 3/4 of the 1st Train shed plus the other 4 plus the low building for these ABBA UNITS.
TRACKS #1 USABLE LENGTH 64"
TRACKS #2 USABLE LENGTH 72"
TRACKS #3 USABLE LENGTH 108"
PLAN TO STORE THE ABBA's as FOLLOWS:
1 SET OF ABBA PA's @ 62 3/4"L TRACK #1
1 SET OF ABBA E-8's @70 1/2"L TRACK #2
2 SETS OF ABBA F-3's @ 53 1/4"L/ea TRACK #3
2 SETS OF ABBA F-7's @ 53 1/4"L/ea TRACK #4
1 SET OF ABBA E-6's @ 71 1/2" L TRACK #5
1 SET OF ABB DL's @ 58 1/4' L TRACK #6
Our Shop's area almost uses a whole basement room for the 2 ABBA SHOP's, 1 Modern Diesel shop, 2 roundhouse's a Transfer table and a roundtable. Thanks for reading.
