Here are a couple of railroad customers in the town of West Valley on my railroad. Click on any of the photos to see a larger version.
With the freight cars out of the way, we can see the businesses better. This is the West Valley Farm and Fuel Supply company. It's an MTH granary with some new paint and weathering. I added a scratchbuilt loading dock to the front. There is a spot for a coal hopper further to the right down the siding (the "fuel" part of the name). Future plans call for a partial interior so that the loading doors can be open.
ACME Metal Drum Corp. is a postwar American Flyer oil drum loader accessory. It has some new paint, weathering and some scale drums of different sizes added to the dock. The loading man still works since the additional drums were placed so that his operating path was clear. Note that the ties of the track are completely buried, as is fairly typical of industrial spurs after years and years of use.
