Happy Labor Day to you all. I will start off with something I constructed in the past. Lets see what you have been working on.

Not much to show yet but after some track work, I'm adding ground cover to an area between the tracks. The world is not flat, and neither is my ROW.
A little plaster cloth does the trick.

WOW......it really is September! Where did the summer go?
I pretty much finished the Oblong Box Company kit!
It challenged my skill level and forced me to do things I never had before. In the end, it was a lot of fun and I feel good about it. Since the stairwell is very fragile, I'm not going to build that until this has a place on my new layout.
1st picture is where I left off the week before......
Adding the walls:
Building the office addition......
Building the roof......
Adding the removable roof.....and setting up the trim pieces.....
Final outdoor pics.....
Now the the building is built and stabilized, I can go back to the foundation and resand areas, add some plastic wood, resand again and paint.....hard to do when the foundation is wobbly.
Have a great holiday weekend, folks!

Alan, I remember that oil platform well.
Peter great job.
Hey does anyone know what happened to WG Pete, from Williamsburg? He was a regular here and I haven't seen a post from him in a while.
Adding LED lighting to my nearly complete Banta Model Works carpenter's shop. Happy with the "old world" lighting look with this LED set (JUNWEN Warm White) on 9 volts DC. Have to route the wires, finish the interior, add the doors and add exterior signage.

Joe,
I think a lot of people float in and out of this thread as they have things to show. I am sure Pete will post again.
Peter,
Congratulations on completing the building and adding to your skill set.
Dave,
Your scene reminds me of myself, sitting in my model room pondering my next project. Nice scene.

Thanks Alan! I have based this particular model on my Great-Uncle Marty, who was a carpenter in his spare time. The four legged table on top of the work bench is meant to match a table he built for us.
First time in my career I open a 'craftsman wood kit' and saw only sticks..........
The kit is an HO JV Models John Rendall Ward's Salvage.
There are basically three buildings and some details. The customer sent some track along with the kit so it looks like I'm building a diorama.
I have the office and most of the crane shed almost done. I can't cut out the holes for windows and doors for the office until I get my Wonder Cutter back from service.
I will start the shed next

Joe that's amazing. Turning a can of Pick-Up-Sticks into three buildings, WOW! My Jack Sparrow hat is off to you. I don't see any Craftsman Kits in my future, especially nothing from JV models.
Joe,
I did a Campbell model HO scale oil rig kit like that. It took forever.

Yep - I miscalculated on this build. In addition to the buildings the customer wants the diorama. This is going to take a while.
