Who else is looking forward to this? This promises to be the most correct L1 made. I'm on the reserve list.

I have one reserved----Post War,I hope. I have an older Williams version and am looking forward to this engine with all of the upgrades to complete my Pennsy steamers. Complete except for an N2,that is.

Still on the fence. Trying to convince myself that I need another one.

Just received my Sunset 3rd Rail PRR Postwar L1s Mikado and boy is it a beauty. I had really been looking forward to this locomotive and all I can say is wow! The fit and finish is beautiful. Tonight I'll put #4188 on the rails and hopefully be able to get a little video. I'm really impressed with the overall detail and appearance of this classic PRR locomotive! Thanks 3rd Rail! Bo

Looks great Bo. I'd love to see video as I'm considering one of these as my first "venture" into brass steamers.
RickO, I'll see what I can do!
Beautiful engine! Does Strasburg have one of those? What is the difference b/w that and the M1b?
Very nice model of an L1s from 3rd Rail. Thanks for posting pictures.
I believe there is a Mikado at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, Strasburg, PA There is also a M1b at the Railroad Museum of PA. Noted differences are size, tender and the pilot trucks.

Much older Weaver offering that has been upgraded to EOB drive system and sound, the Mikado is second on the turntable after the H10 Consolidation. Click to access a video.
This is a sweet little locomotive right out of the box. It ran equally well in forward and reverse and had no problem negotiating the O72 turnouts. It has the option of running with 2 chuffs or 4 chuffs per revolution. In the video I am operating with 2 chuffs. Hope you liked the video. Bo
Wonderful. Thank you for posting the video.

3rd Rail did a terrific job in the design and construction of Pennsy Mikado.
