Hello,

I recently completed the conversion of a Sunset 3rd Rail B&O EM-1 to 2 rail.  In the process I managed to save four of the flanged 3 rail driver tires.  I noticed that two flanged drivers on the engine have the rubber traction tires.  If anyone is interested in a pair of solid steel tires to replace the traction tired driver tires, you can have them for the cost of postage (about $6.00 via USPS Priority Mail.)

You will have to press the traction tired tires off of the centers and these will go on as a direct replacement eliminating the need to replace traction tires from time to time.

If no one wants them they will go in the trash can.

Bob,

You do not need a fixture for the Sunset flanged hi rail drivers.  The flanges are internally stepped so they only push out from the rear of the driver.  Chuck the driver in the 3 jaw chucm with the flange against the chuck jaws and with a piece of 1/2" drill rod in the tailstock chuck, just push the center out of the tire.

Like you, I cut through the driver tires ( I just use a hacksaw)  to remove them on most other conversions.

Joe
