The difference between O and S is that there are several manufacturers of good looking and running 21" passenger cars serving the O gauge market. No one makes equivalent 80' passenger cars in S, it was Sunset or none. Apparently those of us in S gauge who want full 80' scale cars are not plentiful enough to fill in the order book at $300/car. Scott even offered 70' shorties as an alternative for those with 20"R track but the price was the same.

I have that set in PRR livery. I bought it about four months ago, very lucky to have found it. I purchased some full scale sleepers and diners from AM. Ron just called to tell me he was shipping them tomorrow along with the rerun of the green New Haven heavyweights.
I always liked the brown, orange and yellow of the IC.

They look good enough to me. The Sunset cars looked amazing - but pretty financially inaccessible for most people. That's why everyone's in HO.
