A week or so I got my email saying that this model was being cancelled due to a lack of orders.  I was surprised for a couple of reasons.  I guess that my main thought would be that it would be very simple to have a couple of single stripe engines made along with the full compliment of whiskers.  Therefore it would be a pretty simple procedure to add a couple of single stripe PA's to the Pennsy mix.(maybe at the end of the run).  I guess that there is more to the story.

Simple for you, maybe but, NOT simple for the builder. That is why there is a minimum of 20 of each RR styling schemes.

When you have contracts and agreements, an exception is very expensive. We only had 4 units reserved, so we asked those that did if they would be interested in switching to the 5 stripe versions. The offer still stands.

E8/E9 Production is moving along smoothly. They will be done end of April. The new ball bearing supported Journals are making a huge difference in performance. Lower friction and increased power output, these models now and coming later this year will be superior to anything from before.

We hope all of you that ordered the E8/E9s will be equally impressed.
