Rev. 2 Super-Chuffer boards don't require any load on the headlight input, you don't need the resistor.  You can tell if you have a Rev. 2 board as it's silk-screened on the back of the PCB.  If you have an older board, you can use a .01uf 50V capacitor, it's a better choice.  Some of the early Rev. 2 boards got out with an incorrect diagram in the documentation.

I've attached the updated Rev. 2 instructions that are supplied with currently shipping units.
