In my town the Automotive & Industrial Fastener distributors carry #18-#12 in 50'-500' rolls in about 9 colors.[Automotive Fasteners, Inc ,Piedmont Fasteners, Inc, Grainger, etc]. Typically they will order #20-#24 gauge. 

I used four conductor standard phone wire.Its cheap and available everywhere.Nick

18 ga (solid, 2 conductor to at least 12 conductor) thermostat cable should be available at any electrical supply, or possibly the (2) Big Box supplies.   Brown cable.   250 ft or 500 ft reels ??

Home Depot and Lowes carry 20 gauge 2 conductor doorbell wire.

Would sure be nice if OGR would start carrying this wire in at least #18 & #20 also. Then adding to that some #20 4-conductor would be great as well! I would buy it for all my needs. Have already ordered their #14 & #16, it is very nice wire.

Last week I bought 500 feet of 22/4 from Amazon for $43, and besides the four stranded conductors it was shielded and had a fifth bare conductor - more than I needed, but it is great.

I just looked it up, here, and now the price is $27.50 - shipped! (Though I don't believe it is shielded - but who cares.)

Just happened to be shopping at local Ace Hardware and found both "D" Station Wire  4 conductor Red/Green/Black/Yellow 24ga 100' roll $13.99 and 100' roll 6 conductor 3 pair for $17.99. Also saw roll of 24ga 4conductor 1000' for $49.
