now, that was a short train. 
I understand the NYS&W has received a $750K grant to repair the Utica branch, which has been out of service from Sherburne south to Chenango Forks since the floods of '06. The info. I saw didn't specify how much damage is to be repaired & if the line will be reopened; the people at the railroad said there's no online business along the route in the ares damaged 5 1/2 yrs. ago & they were in no hurry to repair the track.

You are not kidding! We still have grass showing at my house! Although, it is coming down right now. this time last year, we already had over 60". Record highs tomorrow and Saturday.

I really hope so, there used to be decent traffic on this line. in fact, i remember ontime there was a derailment, and Conrail was sending stack trains through here. I was in heaven! Of course, the speed restrictions meant we were sitting at crossings for several minutes, but what a show!
