Does the MTH SW-1 Switcher Diesel Engine w/Proto-Sound 3.0 - Nickel Plate Road MTH# 30-20099-1 have a smoke unit in it and if it doesn't can one be installed and for what approximate dollar amount? Thanks for your help.

I don't have that particular one but do have PS2 and 3 SW1s. I am pretty sure the reason it doesn't have a smoke unit is there isn't enough room. Maybe you could cram a seuthe unit in there but not a fan driven unit.

I have the MTH SW 1 Proto 3 in Maryland and Pennsylvania ( Railing scale ) and there is no smoke unit.
